Tomco offers a range of pulsed amplifiers which have been developed for use in applications requiring extremely fast pulse rise and fall times. Our standard amplifiers offer pulse rise and fall times of typically <100ns. Our ultra fast rise/fall time models offer typically 15ns. These amplifiers were developed in response to requests from researchers in the field of low frequency electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). The key features that were required for this application were the ability to handle very short pulses (40ns), fast blanking between pulses and linearity between input and output power up to 2kW.

"Fast-response VHF pulsed 2kW power amplifiers" - publication detailing the use of this amplifier in EPR
The Tomco very fast rise/fall time amplifers are available at a range of frequencies and output power levels.
These amplifiers are ideally suited for use in EPR/ESR/ENDOR applications and also in radar systems using extremely short pulses. This specialized amplifier is also used in air-borne ice radar. |
